Today’s #TakeMeBackMikton is Canada Day Kinsmen Soap Box Derby held in 1990. Location for the races was the hill at the intersection of Charles and Pine Street. In the background is 236 Queen St. which was built in two section over the years. Merchant and Municipal Politician, Mr. James Hollinrake and his family owned the home from 1872-1911 and known as “Maplehurst”. Not many homes during this period had various names attached to them by their owners.
