The R. David Albert Turner Collection provides a database summary document of all of Milton’s WW1 Soldiers and a copy of all of their Attestation Papers, if they joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force. Some Milton Soldiers attested to the British Army and as such do not have CEF attestation papers.

The collection of all of these documents was made to the Milton Historical Society by David Turner in April 2009. The works have been digitally scanned and are now available on-line at the following site:

For those wishing to see the detailed files of soldiers in the Turner Collection that were not killed in service, those can be purchased from Library and Archives Canada. Please contact the MHS WWI Research Team if you need any assistance in obtaining those files.

The Turner Collection files have been uploaded in PDF format and include the detailed summary listing of all soldiers, followed by separate alphabetic folders for all of the listed soldiers. Please click on the links in the following table (updated November 2013) to download the records that you need:

For those interested in a single file or a few files for a known soldier(s), you may wish to download that Attestation Paper for free from Library and Archives Canada. The links above are for all soldiers in that alphabetic group, thus the files are large and will take time to download.

Click on this link “Turner Collection on MediaFire” to go to the main page where all the files are stored. From that page you can decide whether to view, download or forward the group of files.
