Monthly Meeting: Robertson Manufacturing

May 15th, 7:30 p.m.

Robertson Manufacturing
Speaker: Mike Twiss

Our guest speaker and member Mike Twiss, has been collecting artifacts for many years of Milton’s famous P. L. Robertson Manufacturing Company. Mike will be talking about some of his historical collection and the company.

Peter Lymburner Robertson – also known as “P.L.” – was a Canadian business mogul, author and inventor. He popularized the square-socket version of the screw and the corresponding screwdriver in the early 1900s. His products are still named after him today and his historic office building is still standing on the original factory property at 97 Bronte St., Milton, Ont. His company became one of the largest manufacturers of light fasteners, including the original Robertson screw, in North America and one of the top Canadian Inventions….made in Milton, Canada!
